On Saturday, June 6, Claire Gallagher, Project Director of the Flourishing Sisterhood project, facilitated a gathering of sisters from across the Houston area for a day of prayer, reflection, and conversation on the ministry of accompaniment.
Together, they reflected on how Jesus walks with others in the Gospels: listening deeply, honoring each story, and revealing God’s presence along the way. Through prayer, shared reflection, and meaningful conversation, the day offered space for connection, mutual support, and discernment.
Loyola Institute for Ministry - Loyola University New Orleans is grateful for the ongoing work of Flourishing Sisterhood in supporting women religious throughout the Gulf Coast region.

Join the conversation on Pope Leo’s new encyclical!
This papal document invites each of us into a conversation about how to be fully human in a world where AI is growing at an unchecked rate, elite and non-state actors control data, and the common good is not prioritized.
Join the conversation with Kim Daniels, JD, from Georgetown, Scott Hurd from Catholic Charities USA, Nichole Flores, PhD, from University of Virginia, and Paul Schrez, PhD, from Notre Dame, who will help us to consider deeper questions about our relationships with God, each other, creation, and technology. What an inspiring day of learning, reflection, and community!
On June 2, Catholic educators, ministry leaders, and faith-filled professionals gathered for our Summer Institute, AI in Catholic Education and Formation: Understanding, Ethics, and Theological Reflection.
We were honored to welcome Dr. Andrea Martin of Loyola University New Orleans, who guided participants through an engaging exploration of artificial intelligence, its growing influence on education and ministry, and the opportunities and challenges it presents for Catholic communities.
Together, we examined important ethical considerations, explored practical applications of AI in schools and ministries, and reflected on how our Catholic faith can help shape a responsible and human-centered approach to emerging technologies.
Participants left with new insights, practical tools, and a renewed commitment to leading with faith, wisdom, and hope in a rapidly changing world.
Thank you to Dr. Martin and to everyone who joined us for this meaningful and thought-provoking experience. We look forward to continuing these important conversations as we embrace innovation while remaining rooted in our Catholic mission.
