Sadness on the passing of Sr. Angela Smith. Long time principal of Holy Ghost School.
Here great news. The school is now called Holy Ghost Center. The two building have gone through some major renovations from new brick stairs connecting the two building. Also, new lighting, heating, and sprinkling system as well new roofs. Inside the original building has been painted and a new restroom was installed. Finally, a new commercial kitchen will be installed. However, the most important part is that learning will continue to be part of the history of the school because of Apex Youth Center, a national recognized After School program has leased the brick building. So, once again young minds will be learning and the classrooms will be full of laughter. I know St. Katharine Drexel is please.

Bye Bye wooded stairs. I remember walking up and down those stairs to 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
If you have heard yet, Holy Ghost School Alumni will have a Block Party/Picnic to celebrate the year of the school. The event will be May 30 from 2pm - 7pm. Tell all alumni and friend of Holy Ghost School. Entertainment will be provide but bring you food and drinks. Hope to see you there.
Unfortunately, the school won't be used as a Early Education Center as hope. The school will under go renovations and upgrades, especially the old building. I have seen the plans and it is likely to take 8 to 9 months. My prayers are that somehow, someway and someday the school will open again to educate more young boys and girls.

I received this letter from Father Cisewski last Saturday in response to keeping Holy Ghost open. I encourage everyone to show your financial support for Holy Ghost no matter the final decision. The school is still having fundraisers.
Urgent: If anyone is seriously interested in trying to keep Holy Ghost School open as a Pre-K - 7 school then come to the PTA meeting tomorrow 12/03/14, 6pm in the school cafeteria. Hopefully, we can convince Father Cisewski and the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, who are suppose to be in attendance to gave us a chance to show we can raise the funds needed to sustain the school long term. Physical support is important but all know money talks so, please bring $98 or what you can to help.
Help support Holy Ghost Candy Sale. Chocolate cover Almonds or Raisins $2 each. Call the school at (504) 899-6782 to get your boxes.
