Our Impact Report for Entrepreneurship Works is now available! We are excited to share another installment of this report with our community. Entrepreneurship Works is a program unlike any other. When creativity meets curriculum amazing things happen. Youth Voice is front and center as young people ideate and build out their own business ideas.

Entrepreneurship Works 2026 and our 2nd Annual Pitch Competition! This summer 25 incredibly talented and dedicated young people came together to reshape what the future of entrepreneurs in New Orleans and the Gulf South will look like. From ideation to presentation, these young entrepreneurs went through the full business conception process and presented these ventures to an audience of peers, family, and community members.

Summer programs like Entrepreneurship Works helps keep young people engaged with learning in a way that centers their voice, creativity and ability to imagine futures they will build. It is important that we continue to advocate for access to afterschool and summer camps and programs to make these spaces for the next generation of leaders and creatives possible! #

Huge thanks to our curriculum partners, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and The Shop Workspace New Orleans for hosting us! Looking forward to summer 2027!

Join Ogden Museum of Southern Art on Saturday, September 26, for their Free Family Day, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month!

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. enjoy FREE admission, a museum-wide scavenger hunt with prizes, art activities highlighting Hispanic culture and artists, community partner tables, family-friendly entertainment, food for purchase and more!

We are officially halfway through this year’s Entrepreneurship Works camp! Our young creatives have been hard at work learning the ins and outs of ideating, planning and structuring a business venture, and preparing to pitch that business to members of the local business community!

These young entrepreneurs have also spent time designing their logos for their newly established businesses! The Logo Launch Gallery gave families and peers a chance to learn more about each business and see a bit of personal flair from the founders. We are so proud of the hard work each young person has poured into their business so far and can’t wait to celebrate at the pitch contest next Friday!

Just like that both DJOD and KDHS camps are over. Here are just a few of the amazing things they did this summer.

At DJOD they learned about the history of Mardi Gras, explored Louisiana cuisine, music, and dance, and discovered the stories behind some of the city's unique traditions.

And at KDHS's culminating event, our students had the opportunity to become both producers and consumers, bringing everything they learned to life through hands-on experiences!

Happy first day of summer! That’s right, summer is already here at Community Works ☀️ After a fun and impactful week of professional development we’re headed into our summer extended learning programs and we couldn’t be more excited.

We’d also like to give a HUGE shout out to .nola and for being our first partners in our Team Culture and Excellence Recognition program. With their generous contributions we’ll be celebrating and recognizing the amazing work of our teams all summer long!
