Before September is over, we have a few Fit Learning lab birthdays to celebrate! 🎉

We’re celebrating 8 years of Fit Learning Kansas City, 8 years of Fit Learning St. Louis, and 2 years of Fit Learning Maui!

Each lab has its own community, team, and story, but they’re all working toward the same goal: helping learners build stronger skills, confidence, and independence through science-based instruction!

We’re so grateful for the directors, coaches, learners, and families who have been part of these labs along the way.

Here’s to many more years of learning and growth! 🧡

Meet Fit Learning Roanoke!
In the Greater Roanoke Valley, Fit Learning Roanoke is helping learners become more confident, more independent, and more skilled while building a genuine love of learning.

Led by Miss Teresa Lyons, the lab is all about growth you can see and measure. Learners are encouraged to recognize their own progress, celebrate their wins, and keep going.

Their motto says it best: Start strong, stay strong!

And the progress speaks for itself! After just 10 hours of Fit Lite Reading instruction, two learners increased their grade-level oral reading fluency by 21 and 38 words per minute.

Growth at Fit Learning Roanoke is about more than scores. It is also about confidence, independence, and creating a culture of fun where learners can enjoy the process.

Some learners understand the material, but still struggle with the management of school.

Fit Learning’s Study Hall provides personalized 1:1 support to help middle school, high school, and college learners strengthen these essential skills.

Study Hall can include support with:
• Organizing backpacks, binders, and school materials
• Using planners and scheduling tools effectively
• Tracking assignments and grades
• Developing study and homework strategies
• Improving note-taking skills
• Breaking larger projects into manageable steps
• Building productive daily routines
• Preparing for schedule or school transitions
• Developing self-advocacy and accountability

The goal isn’t to just get tonight’s homework finished. It’s to help learners develop skills they can use throughout school, college, and beyond!

We’re excited to welcome Breakthrough Academy to the growing community of schools implementing Fit Lite! 🧡

Breakthrough Academy is an independent private special day school serving primarily learners who are neurodivergent or have learning differences. Their team combines grade-level general and special education curriculum with evidence-based approaches including Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, fluency-based instruction, Applied Behavior Analysis, and the Science of Reading.

Recently, Breakthrough team members Kallie Lorgeree and Bernice McColloch completed Fit Lite training at Fit Learning Reno!

Now, Breakthrough plans to incorporate Fit Lite as an additional intervention for learners enrolled in the school, while also offering it as an after-school tutoring opportunity.

We love seeing schools invest in instructional practices that measure learning, respond to individual performance, and help students make truly meaningful academic progress!
