Fit Learning’s Study Hall provides personalized 1:1 support to help middle school, high school, and college learners strengthen these essential skills.

Study Hall can include support with:
• Organizing backpacks, binders, and school materials
• Using planners and scheduling tools effectively
• Tracking assignments and grades
• Developing study and homework strategies
• Improving note-taking skills
• Breaking larger projects into manageable steps
• Building productive daily routines
• Preparing for schedule or school transitions
• Developing self-advocacy and accountability

The goal isn’t to just get tonight’s homework finished. It’s to help learners develop skills they can use throughout school, college, and beyond!

We’re excited to welcome Breakthrough Academy to the growing community of schools implementing Fit Lite! 🧡

Breakthrough Academy is an independent private special day school serving primarily learners who are neurodivergent or have learning differences. Their team combines grade-level general and special education curriculum with evidence-based approaches including Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, fluency-based instruction, Applied Behavior Analysis, and the Science of Reading.

Recently, Breakthrough team members Kallie Lorgeree and Bernice McColloch completed Fit Lite training at Fit Learning Reno!

Now, Breakthrough plans to incorporate Fit Lite as an additional intervention for learners enrolled in the school, while also offering it as an after-school tutoring opportunity.

We love seeing schools invest in instructional practices that measure learning, respond to individual performance, and help students make truly meaningful academic progress!

The best time to strengthen your child’s academic skills is before the school year starts. 🧠
Most learners do not simply need more exposure to grade-level material. They need fluency in the foundational skills that make new learning easier, faster, and less frustrating.
When those skills are missing, learners can enter the new school year already feeling behind. At Fit Learning, our learners typically gain one year of academic growth in just 40 hours of instruction.

Here’s how enrollment works:
• Connect: Contact a Fit Learning center near you by phone or email. Families without a local center can reach out to Fit Learning Reno or Fit Learning Online.
• Evaluate: Speak with a Lab Director about your learner’s needs and determine the best next steps.
• Assess: Complete a comprehensive skills assessment to measure fluency across essential academic skills.
• Begin: Your learner works 1:1 with a certified Learning Coach through an individualized program, typically 4–5 sessions per week.
• Measure Results: After 40–50 sessions, learners are reassessed so families can see their measurable progress and growth.

Do not wait for the first homework meltdown to discover that foundational skills are missing!

A new school year can feel like a fresh start, but moving into a new grade does not automatically mean a student has mastered the skills they need for what comes next.

Learning requires more than exposure. Students need active participation, repeated practice, feedback, and reinforcement until essential skills become fluent.

Fluency allows students to perform skills accurately and quickly, without hesitation. It also creates the foundation for more complex learning. Students need fluent phonics and decoding to become proficient readers, just as they need fluent numeracy and computation to succeed in advanced math.

When a child works hard but continues to struggle, it does not mean they are incapable of learning. It may mean important prerequisite skills were never fully mastered.

Sometimes the answer is not more homework. It is more effective instruction.

In just 10 weeks, this learner made tremendous progress in both reading skills and confidence. Even better, he left each day excited about what he was accomplishing!
