How Small Businesses Can Thrive With a Growth Mindset 06/30/2021

...The U. S. Chamber of Commerce 🙏🏾❤️

Honored to be interviewed by this major governmental business agency to share subject matter expertise for business owners across the country.

When your 82 year old Grandmother travels from Alabama, visits your office for the 1st time, and says, “Baby, I’m so proud of you, all you are doing, and the woman you’ve become”, it holds weight 🙏🏾

Of all the things she shared today, I will never forget these words and the look on her face. ❤️

As a Black owned business, this is reason as to why this work is personal. There is NOTHING else in this world that compares to the ability to exercise freedom to live on your terms and create the world you want for not only you but your family and loved ones. ❤️ P.S. Grandma fell in love with the rooftop, lol! 🌟

Thank you WTDN for what was a very special interview earlier this month and this powerful feature article below!! 🙏🏾❤️

Audre Lorde shared, “When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.”

This journey has been scary at times, and full of unknowns but trusting the process has proven time and time again to be the best thing we could ever do. We have been engaged in work that literally brings you to tears because there is NOTHING- absolutely nothing - about one of our team member’s stories that would convince you that we’d be where we are today as a firm, but here we are...learning, growing, scaling, and defying odds, naysaying, imposter syndrome, our own fears, and so much more! There’s so much we haven’t shared with you all, but they’re MIND-BLOWING milestones and business wins that only God could open the doors 🚪 to. 🙏🏾

Last weekend, we were blessed to have an amazing Black-owned interior design team, TLS Weddings and Special Events, custom design and decorate our office space!

Owner Tonia Sims and her team were absolutely INCREDIBLE!

1) Not are they Black-owned, but they’re based in rural Mississippi, value authentic connection with their clients, and even personally mailed us an entire box of sweet treats, candles, and more days later!!! 🎉 They’re so down-to-Earth, personable, professional, and care deeply for their clients!

2) Their work is breath-taking! These pictures don’t even begin to do justice to the beautiful, posh , and pristine touch they have our space! They not only brought our vision to life but they truly exceeded anything we could think of!

3) They commuted from Mississippi to New Orleans and spent the weekend all into this project!

4) We highly recommend them for your personal and professional design needs!

5) From the greenery to our glass furniture to the vintage chairs and more, we’re in love! 💛 ...Never undercut or take for granted how much the little things mean to business owners as there’s nothing like having your own & watching what was once an idea come to life as a full-fledged, growing company!

As our firm grows both nationally and globally, TLS has helped put important touches on ensuring that our office 100% matches where our brand has evolved to!

Forever indebted and grateful!! 💛💛💛 We love you, Tonia!

🚨 KAC family, we are humbled and grateful to publicly announce Amazon as one of our newest clients! 💯✊🏾

2 months ago, we received outreach/a request for a meeting and most definitely believed it was either spam or an accident (e.g. classic case of what imposter syndrome says to us as POC, particularly Black women.) Turns out it was real and would become game-changing for our firm and the legacy we work to build for our community.

These past 2 months and on-going work with Amazon has been one of our most major contracts to date, and we thank this team for entrusting our firm with the body of work we’ve begun and are actively engaged in executing. ☀️

As a proud Black owned and POC operated business, we seek to bring our full authentic selves to every space, and we believe that doing so will ALWAYS make room for you. 🤍

This morning, we extend to our CEO for being named as one of the Inaugural 50 of 4.0’s Angel Syndicate!

4.0’s Angel Syndicate serves as a masterclass and community for Black philanthropists. This cohort is composed of CEOs, founders, researchers, and other leaders from 21 states; of which, 56% are women and 40% are 4.0 alumni. Over the next 6 months, these individuals will build skills and power to impact communities as education philanthropists.

From September 2020 to February 2021, angels will meet virtually 2–3 times per month for live workshops, where they will learn from each other, program guides, and guest speakers.
Angels will complete the program by making investments in early-stage education ventures. After the program, alumni will advise future angels, access alumni events and programming, lead more funding rounds, and co-invest with more members of the syndicate. 📷:

As we wind down the month of , there are an ENORMOUS amount of things that have transpired this month that have absolutely shifted the realm and depth of our impact both nationally and internationally. 🙏🏾 Of the things we’ll kick off sharing, while we have maintained a virtual office during these 3 years of our existence, K. Allen Consulting is proud to share that we now have our 1st physical office located downtown New Orleans within the Central Business District on site at the Contemporary Arts Center! ❤️

This is not only a major moment for KAC as a firm, but also in salute and symbolism of the hard work, growth, and scaling of EVERY Black and POC owned and operated venture actualizing and exceeding expectations IN SPITE of the Imposter Syndrome we feel, the lack of supports we have often experienced, the racial trauma we have undergone and STILL do, and the clear lack of financial advantage and capital we as Black and POC owned/operated ventures often lack. •

We love this space, its amenities, what it allows us to offer technologically and in-person for the work we do for nonprofits, businesses, and schools; and the space it gives us for our team’s expansion and future programming. ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏻✊🏿 Looking forward to what’s in store and sharing with you as our followers and supporters the many things that have kept and continue keep to our daily calendar FULL in more ways than we could have ever imagined! 🙏🏾 🤍

✨⭐️✨Today, we extend a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our .allen.consulting Founder & CEO Krystal Hardy Allen! Yesterday, Krystal was one of over 10 women in business who pitched their work to TruFund Financial Services, Inc. - Regions Bank and won 1st Place as this Semi-Final’s Pitch Winner inclusive of a monetary investment from both institutions for our organization’s work!!!

This was .allen.consulting ‘s first time ever entering and undergoing a pitch process, and COINCIDENTALLY, the amount of money awarded to our firm last night from TruFund/Regions ‘s Women in Business Pitch Event MATCHED the EXACT amount of money we gave away to a total of 20 different teachers nation-wide to kickoff Teachers Appreciation Week!! Talk about good karma! ⭐️ We couldn’t be more PROUD!!! 🍎☀️✊🏾💯
