Today was Spirit Day at Breakthrough New Orleans, and our colleges went all out showing their school pride and Breakthrough spirit!

From colorful banners and presentations to chants, teamwork, and friendly competition, our students brought incredible energy throughout the day. Colleges competed for a variety of awards, including Best Spirit, Best Banner, Best Dressed, and many more, showcasing their creativity, enthusiasm, and college pride.

While some colleges took home awards, every student contributed to making Spirit Day a huge success. The excitement, camaraderie, and school spirit on display today reminded us what makes the Breakthrough community so special.

Today students learned about the amazing Short Course opportunities available this summer! Each student will choose two afternoon elective courses, giving them the chance to explore new interests, discover hidden talents, and have fun while learning.

From coding and forensics to theater, songwriting, art, and dance, there is truly something for everyone. We can’t wait to see our students step outside their comfort zones, develop new skills, and make unforgettable memories this summer!

Our students had an incredible day at The National WWII Museum, where history came to life through engaging exhibits, powerful stories, and interactive learning experiences. A highlight of the trip was watching Beyond All Boundaries which gave students a deeper understanding of the sacrifices and resilience of the World War II generation.
Experiences like these bring learning to life and inspire our students to connect the past with the future. Thank you to everyone who helped make this educational adventure possible! 🇺🇸📚✨

☀️📚 The first day of Summer Academy is officially in the books!

Today, our classrooms came alive as Breakthrough New Orleans scholars and Teaching Fellows kicked off another incredible summer of learning, leadership, and growth. From meeting new friends and teachers to diving into engaging lessons and activities, the energy, excitement, and curiosity were everywhere.

At Breakthrough New Orleans, we believe every student deserves access to educational opportunities that help them reach their full potential. This summer, our scholars will challenge themselves academically, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive in high school, college, and beyond.
