Following his recognition as a recipient of the inaugural Bischof Research and Travel Scholarship from the Center Austria at the University of New Orleans, Social Studies teacher Jose Lozano recently returned from Austria, where he continued his research on the Habsburg dynasty!Building on earlier work that earned him the scholarship, Mr. Lozano spent time in Vienna this summer, conducting archival research at the Austrian State Archives and exploring historic sites connected to the Habsburg Empire, including the Belvedere Palace and Viennaโs imperial district. The opportunity allowed him to work directly with primary source documents while deepening his understanding of the people, events, and institutions that shaped European history. We congratulate Mr. Lozano on this remarkable achievement and look forward to the many ways his research and global experiences will continue to enrich the learning experience of our students at Cabrini.
Way to go, Mr. Lozano! ๐๐

On July 7, 2026, Cabrini High School will commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Mother Cabrini's Canonization with a special Mass in the Sacred Heart Chapel, with light refreshments to follow.
As a special service project in honor of Mother Cabrini's devotion to orphaned children, we invite all attendees to bring an unwrapped child's toy to Mass. In keeping with Mother Cabrini's spirit of service, these toys will be collected and sent to orphaned children in Honduras. Please note that we are requesting toys only (no books) and no battery-operated items. Your generosity will help make this celebration a meaningful tribute to Mother Cabrini's lifelong commitment to caring for those most in need.
Mother Cabrini's legacy of faith, service, courage, and compassion continues to inspire generations of Cabrinians and people around the world. Together, let us honor the first American saint and celebrate the enduring impact of her mission.
