Mudlark Theater

Last Friday, our Explorers visited the Mudlark Theater for an engaging, hands-on field trip all about the art of puppetry. Students learned about different types of puppets—including rod puppets, marionettes, and giant puppets—before putting their creativity to work. Inspired by what they learned, they designed and built their own paper bird flying machines, bringing together art, engineering, and imagination in a fun and interactive experience!

Green Light Rain Barrel Project

Our Explorers are making a real impact through our Green Light Rain Barrel Project! A huge thank you to our Gardening Club, Teacher Cal, and especially Explorer Lillian for their creativity, artwork, and dedication. Together, they painted three beautiful rain barrels that will help raise $300 for the program while also supporting efforts to reduce flooding in New Orleans by capturing and reusing rainwater. This project is a powerful example of students using art, science, and community action to create meaningful change!
