Making a dorm room feel like home is a college rite of passage, and Freeman students recently helped a New Orleans startup make that process easier.
As part of a senior capstone project, students consulted for Dormie, a company offering curated dorm décor plans and shopping checklists. Their recommendations ranged from streamlining the checkout and shipping process to expanding influencer partnerships at SEC schools and in sorority communities.
For one student, the project even led to an internship and a full-time job.

Jamari Tansmore, a 2025 Online MBA graduate, was initially worried that the online learning environment wouldn’t include as much peer conversation or collaboration, but he was pleased to find the opposite. “One thing I loved about this program is that there was a lot of project work and opportunities for interaction between cohort members. Even though we weren’t in the same location, that interaction still took place, and it was very beneficial for my learning.”

That is the incredible scale of operations at Hubig's Pies - The Official Page, but what’s even more impressive is the meticulous attention to detail at every step.
Freeman Seniors visited their Jefferson facility to see this "scale vs. detail" balance in action. These students, as part of the Senior Capstone program, evaluated expansion opportunities for this local icon and delivered a comprehensive growth plan to help Hubig reach new markets while maintaining the quality we all love.
