NAUW New Orleans at Sister Strut!

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, members of the National Association of University Women – New Orleans Branch proudly participated in the Sister Strut in New Orleans.

Walking together in support of breast cancer awareness and survivorship, our sisters showed up in unity, strength, and sisterhood. Events like Sister Strut remind us of the power of community as we uplift survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and continue advocating for education, early detection, and support for women and families impacted by breast cancer.

Thank you to everyone who walked, supported, and represented NAUW with pride. When women come together with purpose, we make a difference!

NAUW New Orleans Celebrates Read Across America! ✨📚

Monday, March 2, was Read Across America Day and this week, March 2-6. March is also Literacy Month and we proudly join the nation in celebrating Read Across America - and NAUW New Orleans is marking the occasion with a special week-long campaign: Date with a Book!

We’re inviting ALL NAUW New Orleans members (and supporters) to participate throughout the week by celebrating the joy and power of reading.

More moments from today’s training with the National Association of University Women – New Orleans Branch! 💚🤍

Today’s session brought our sisters together for a focused NAUW training, strengthening our shared understanding and commitment to the organization and its mission.

There was an interactive scavenger hunt activity focused on NAUW facts, a fun mini fashion show highlighting appropriate attire when wearing uninterrupted white or NAUW paraphernalia, a walkthrough of the members portal, and a binder review.

We are grateful for every sister who showed up ready to learn, grow, and serve together. 💚🤍

What a wonderful and productive meeting with our amazing sisters of the National Association of University Women! The fellowship was strong, the ideas were flowing, and the commitment to service and scholarship was on full display. 💚🤍

We are grateful for the leadership and vision of our President, Mrs. Karen Bryan-Chambers, pictured with sister Toya Baptiste. Not only are they phenomenal NAUW sisters, but they are also proud Femme Fatale sisters — a beautiful example of sisterhood across organizations!

What a beautiful example of service, sisterhood, and purpose.

Dr. Nubian Sun organized a meaningful book drive to help establish “Emerald Corner” at Sister Hearts Boutique and Gift Store—a dedicated space created to support healing from prison trauma and to help rehumanize those who have been incarcerated.

Sister Hearts is more than a boutique; it is a safe and intentional space rooted in restoration, dignity, and hope. We are honored to partner in work that uplifts our community through literacy, compassion, and action.

This effort was a powerful collaboration between our Literacy Committee and Education Committee, reminding us that access to books is access to possibility.

Our NAUW New Orleans Branch came together for an afternoon filled with joy, laughter, creativity, and beautiful sisterhood. From the paint strokes to the Mardi Gras vibes, the energy was high and the love was even higher.
