Throughout her distinguished career, Tina has exemplified the highest standards of nursing practice and professional dedication. As a critical member of our Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery team, she has provided exceptional care to countless patients. Her clinical expertise in pre- and post-operative cardiothoracic nursing has been instrumental in improving patient outcomes and promoting excellence in surgical care.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Alan Marr on his retirement after 34 years of dedicated service to LSU Health and the communities he has served! πŸŽ‰

Dr. Marr’s distinguished academic and clinical career has included numerous leadership roles within LSUHSC and affiliated institutions, including Vice Chairman for Education, Surgical Clerkship Director, Director of Curriculum and Surgical Education and Associate Program Director for Resident Education in Surgery. Through these roles, he helped shape the education and training of countless medical students, surgical residents, and fellows.

A respected trauma surgeon, intensivist, educator, and mentor, Dr. Marr has played a pivotal role in advancing surgical education, curriculum development and the integration of technology into clinical practice. His leadership was instrumental in electronic health record implementation, quality improvement initiatives, trauma system development and the creation of protocols that enhanced patient care across our region. His impact on generations of learners, colleagues and patients will be felt for years to come.
