New middle schoolers kicked off the new school year by reporting first today for a day of orientation! 📚✂️✏️

We’re baaaack! Teachers and staff returned today full time. The day began with mass followed by organizational meetings and professional development. Thanks to the Ladies Club for treating employees to a delicious breakfast this morning. Two “new” teachers join the faculty this year. Actually, each previously taught at CBS and is returning for a second stint- Jodi Epp (Canal Street) and JD Barbara (City Park). Welcome home, Mrs. Epp and Mr. Barbara! Gatherings and classroom setups continue tomorrow as preparations continue for students to return next week.

A newly painted blacktop awaits students on the Canal Street campus when they report back to school next week! Thanks are in order for those who donated time, talent and/or treasure to make this happen: TJ Abbot, Neil Anderson, Jared Cole, Thomas Constant, Tim Fanguy, Chris Gaffney, Corey Gallagher, Joey Helm, Sean Mauberret, Matthew McCollough, John Moran, David Munson, Keith Porta, Rachael Prat, Jean-Pierre Risey, Josh Romig and Adam Shackleton. Special recognition goes to Troy Lazaro who was the Project Leader!

The Lady Falcons Dance Team has been hard at work this summer learning competition choreography and attending UDA Camp. All of the 7th graders earned the All-American Award, and special congratulations are extended to Penelope Tschirn and Chloe Patrias for receiving the Pin It Forward Award recognizing positive attitude, leadership and encouragement throughout camp! Cheers to an incredible 26-27 school year from this amazing team. ♥️🩶🤍

Mini Stars Dance Camp is in the books. Our youngest dancers are ready for the 26-27 school year! 🧑‍🩰🩰⭐️

Six students from CBS represented Team Louisiana at the 9-10 yo Diamond Youth Baseball World Series in Laurel, MS after winning district, regional, and state championships.

The CBS Falcon Cheer Team started early too by proudly representing our school at UCA Camp at LSU this week. The cheer team competed against four junior high programs, bringing home:

🥇 1st Place – Camp Routine
🥇 1st Place – Cheer
🥇 Overall Camp Champion
🥈 2nd Place – Sideline

🏆 Special acknowledgement for Scarlett Simon and Emilia Golemi who were awarded All American!

We are incredibly proud of these young ladies for their hard work, determination, teamwork, and dedication to CBS. We look forward to the 26-27 year of Falcon Cheer!

Although school doesn’t start for another week or so, tackle football players reported for camp at Nicholls State University today. 🏈🦅🏟️

Check this out … CBS alumna and rising LSU junior, Juliette Marino (right), is a sports reporter for LSU Tiger TV. She recently interviewed Lane Kiffin at the SEC Media Days. Juliette says that her training for CBS Speech Nights prepared her to approach the interview with calm and confidence. She noted that it was as if those CBS speech nights prepared her for this very moment, adding that she “felt the fear and did it anyway.” Congratulations, Juliette, and continued best wishes on your journey!
