This past semester, we hosted our annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition where PhD students had only 3 minutes and 1 slide to present their research to a panel of judges. The 2025 Grand Winner is Jill Love and People’s Choice is Anindita Barua.

We had our monthly donut day in February at the Knowledge Lab of Tulane’s library uptown. We will continue to hold our donut days there. See you at our next one!

In celebration of National Postdoc Week (Sept 15-Sept 19), we treated our amazing postdocs to free football tickets for Tulane vs. ECU! 💚🏈 Thank you for all that you do, we’re cheering for you on and off the field!

OGPS met more than 250 graduate students and almost 100 new TAs last week. Welcome, we can’t wait to get to know you this academic year!

Hooding Ceremony for our graduate students from SLA, BMS, and SSE was today! Congrats to the new graduates! We are so proud and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Thanks for everyone that came to our monthly Donut Day where we collaborated with Tulane’s librarians, We hope you were able to network, talk with some of the librarians, and enjoy some delicious food, pastries, and coffee!

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s 3MT Competition and to our presenters for sharing their incredible research!

This year’s grand prize winner is Ade Adegbite, with his presentation, “Yoruba Proverbs as a Tool for Reversing Language Shift.” Ade will go on to represent Tulane at the regional competition in March at the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools (CSGS).

Additionally, Taylor Marcus earned the People’s Choice Award for her presentation, “Investigating the Self-Face Bias.”
