Yesterday, our President and CEO, Rebecca Conwell, had the pleasure of presenting at Gulf Coast Defense Catalyst’s (GCDC) inaugural Innovation Industry Day in New Orleans, highlighting the vital role of LSU New Orleans Research & Technology Park and LSU New Orleans in fostering collaboration and advancing the unique strengths of our university, tenants, and partners.
Our Research & Technology Park and LSU New Orleans have deep-rooted connections to the military and defense community, dating back to our first tenant, SPAWAR, and continuing today through our longstanding relationship with the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic).
GCDC brings together four premier naval commands— NIWC Atlantic, U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Panama City Division, and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory—with a shared strategy of connecting warfighter needs with industry and academia to accelerate innovation.
We are proud to partner with Greater New Orleans, Inc. and Louisiana Economic Development on this important initiative. Together, we are helping accelerate defense technology innovation, strengthen national security, and build a high-tech workforce across the Gulf Coast region—giving our students, faculty, and tenants a front-row seat to this historic effort.
