🌧️ Well, this is a little rain on our pumpkin parade! 🎃🐑

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans for us this weekend! With most of our Fall Festival activities planned outdoors, we've made the tough decision to CANCEL our October 10th event due to the weather forecast. 💙

BUT DON'T PUT AWAY THOSE FALL OUTFITS JUST YET! 🍂

We're still planning to celebrate on Saturday, October 24th, from 3–6 PM, and we're making it even BIGGER and BETTER! 🎉

Here's what you can look forward to:

🎃 FREE pumpkins for attendees to take home (while supplies last!)

🐴 Meet and interact with our adorable farm animals!

👻 Halloween costume contests — so come dressed to impress!

🛍️ Shop local vendors and small businesses!

📸 Family photo opportunities, with professional photos available for purchase!

🎯 Family-friendly games and activities included with admission!

🍁 All the cozy fall fun you can handle!

🎟️ Admission is just $5 per person, with a $15 MAX per family! Pumpkins, animal experiences, and family games are included!

🛍️ VENDORS WANTED! The good news? You've got two extra weeks to join us! Vendor spots are just $25, and all proceeds from vendor fees go toward renovating our future school campus. Message us to reserve your spot!

📍 Genova Academy | Historic Plevna School | New Market, AL

We're so sorry for the change of plans, but we're excited to make October 24th an extra-special afternoon for our community! Thank you for supporting Genova Academy as we work to bring our little school to life. 💙

Help us spread the word by sharing this post so nobody makes the trip out this weekend!

🎶 Working 9 to 5… on our scarecrow wings. 😂🦋✨

My little helper and I had SO much fun making wings for Genova Academy’s Dolly Parton-inspired scarecrow for the scarecrow contest at Isom’s Orchard! 🍎🎃💕

And now we need YOUR help because VOTING IS TOMORROW! 🗳️

✨ Genova Academy is #17 ✨
If you see our Dolly and her fabulous wings, cast a vote for us! 🦋

There are 18 scarecrows total, and seriously… they are ALL adorable. This is such a cute fall activity to do with the kids, so even if you aren’t coming just to vote for us 😉, I highly recommend heading out to see them all! Even #16 Booklegger!

And while you’re there… do yourself a favor:
🍎 Apple c***r slushie
🍩 Fresh donuts
🎃 Scarecrow hunting
🦋 Vote for #17 — Genova Academy!

Such a fun way to spend the day AND support local. 💛

POV: you’re scouting photo spots at Genova and Bob decides he’s part of the shoot too. 😂🐴📸

We met up with Mac, owner of Wildlight Photography, to explore the Genova Academy property and find some of our favorite spots for THIS SATURDAY’S Fall Family Mini Sessions! 🍂

The garden? 😍
The little foresty area tucked inside the animal pasture? 🌲✨
And obviously… anywhere Bob decides to photobomb. 😂

📸 FALL FAMILY MINI SESSIONS
📅 This Saturday
⏰ 5:00–6:15 PM
🍂 15-minute sessions
💵 $150 per session
📷 10 professionally edited images
🎃 FREE pumpkin included!

And because this is Genova… of course there are animals involved. 🐴🐐🦙

You’ll get a chance to meet our school animals, and if you’d like one of them included in your family photos, just let us know ahead of time! 🤎

Best of all, this is a fundraiser for Genova Academy, so your family photos are helping us continue bringing this historic little school back to life. 🏫✨

We only have a few spots left! Head to the link in our bio to book your session.

You can also find our donation link + teaching and volunteer opportunities there if you’d like to be part of Genova in another way. 🤍

Now the important question… would you put Bob in your family Christmas card? 😂👇

YOU PICK WHAT WE DO NEXT WEEK. 👀🌾

We want to start opening up the Genova Academy campus for more fun community events while we prepare for renovations and work toward our second-semester opening—and you get to choose the first one!

So… what are we doing?! 👇

🎨 PAINT DAY — come create something with us on the farm

🧘‍♀️ MOM + ME FITNESS — yoga, Pilates, or a fun outdoor fitness class

📸 FAMILY MINI SESSIONS — quick family photos around the Genova property

🐑 MEET THE ANIMALS — an Ag Day-ish experience at a time that works better for families with kiddos already in school

COMMENT YOUR VOTE: 🎨 🧘‍♀️ 📸 or 🐑

Whichever one wins, we’ll still sprinkle in a little Genova magic. 🌱 You'll have a chance to see the animals, learn more about what we're building, meet us, and ask all those questions you've been wanting to ask about the school!

And tell us this too:

☀️ Weekday morning?
🌤️ Weekday afternoon/evening?
🌾 Weekend?

We want to schedule these when families can actually come, so your answers really do matter.

Have an even BETTER idea? Drop it below. 👇

📍 Genova Academy | New Market, AL

🔗 Interested in Genova? Our Parent Packet, Family Interest Form, Teacher Interest Form, donation page + more are all available through the link in our bio.

Let the voting begin. 👀👇

09/25/2026

What would actually make you pack up the kids and COME HANG OUT WITH US? 👀🌾

As we get closer to beginning renovations on Genova Academy and work toward opening for second semester, we want to do something fun in the meantime. 🤎

We’re thinking ONE community event each week on our 5-acre campus in New Market, and we want YOU to help decide what they look like.

🍞 Sourdough workshops
🎨 Painting on the farm
🐑 Animal experiences
💪 Mommy + Me fitness
🌿 Gardening & homesteading
🧭 Kids’ survival/outdoor skills
🛠️ Hands-on workshops
🤝 Local businesses teaching something cool
🍂 PLUS a bigger fall festival!

Events would be ticketed, with proceeds helping support Genova Academy as we prepare our campus, classrooms, teachers, and programs for opening. 🏫✨

But we need the important answers:

👇 WEEKDAY or WEEKEND?
☀️ MORNING or AFTERNOON?
🎟️ $10, $20, $30+ — what feels reasonable for a great experience?
🤔 Would you rather LEARN something, EXPERIENCE something, or BOTH?

And most importantly…

What event would make you immediately say, “Yep. We’re going.”?

DROP IT BELOW. 👇 Even if it's something completely different from our ideas!

📍 New Market, Alabama

And LOCAL BUSINESSES + CREATORS: If you have a skill, class, workshop, or experience you'd love to bring to Genova, send us a DM. We'd love to collaborate with our community. 🤎

🔗 Want to be part of Genova? Click the link in our bio!
There you can find our Parent Packet, Family Interest Form, Teacher Interest Form, donation page, and more. Whether you’re interested in enrolling, teaching, supporting, or simply following along... we’d love to hear from you. 🌾🏫
