Thanks SO much to JMU's "Dukes Making A Difference" students who spent the last two days working inside and out at CCLC making things better for our children and staff. We were so busy we forgot to get photos of them reading and playing games with children, cleaning and organizing toys, moving furniture, preparing raised beds for fall, planting, and soo much more! CCLC is grateful for our collaboration with JMU students and faculty since 2019 when students painted the doors purple at our original location on East Lee Hwy., living our vision of "Exemplifying the Power of Community Collaboration"

We continued with our reptile pet theme with a visit from Pablo the snake. The children were all very intrigued (from a safe distance). They ask every day what kind of pet will be coming. Stay tuned for cute puppy pictures next 🐶

When this gecko visited for Pet week, children looked but didn't touch, because DID YOU KNOW geckos can lose their tail when they're scared or feel threatened? While learning this, and other facts about geckos, the children patiently watched the lizard from all angles in its travel cage. Thanks to our friends for bringing "Pebbles" to CCLC!
