Prelims - 36th out of 56
Semis - Top 16 SEEDS move on; not Top 16 SCORE wise (missed the cut by 4 spots)

….and then there’s 2026.
“Your application for Combined School status has been declined due to the following:
• More than one school has a marching band program”

BIP26 made program history when they slithered out of 16th place in Prelims (out of 37) and into the last spot - the 15th spot in Semis to make PIO FINALS. What’s not being talked about and what a LOT of fans don’t know - their roster. 10 seniors. 11 juniors. 15 sophomores. 3 freshman. ….in High School. 🤯

This PIO group of 9-12th grade kids made World Finals. World. Finals. …let that sink in.

We are so proud of the Buckhorn Color Guard for a great indoor season and a big milestone for our program!
This year marked their first trip to Dayton, Ohio to compete at the Winter Guard International World Championships. They represented Buckhorn so well and made the most of an incredible experience.
Thank you to our staff for your time, dedication, and leadership with this group.
We’re proud of this team and all they’ve achieved this season!

Riverton Intermediate School Beginner Band How to be “Part of the Band”

The Buckhorn Band family had an incredible showing at this year’s Music Performance Assessment (MPA). Five Buckhorn ensembles took the stage at MPA, three middle school bands and two high school bands, showcasing the hard work, preparation, and dedication of our students and directors.
Highlights from MPA:
• The Buckhorn Middle School Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mr. Williams, earned Superior ratings (all 1’s) in both stage performance and sight reading. Including a perfect score on stage.
• The Buckhorn Middle School Concert Band, under the direction of Mrs. McBee, also earned Superior ratings (all 1’s) in both stage performance and sight reading.
• A third Buckhorn Middle School band, the Intermediate Band under the direction of Mr. Williams, prepared and attended MPA for comments and evaluation. This reflects the tremendous growth of our middle school program and the dedication of these young musicians as they take an important step forward.
• The Buckhorn High School Symphonic Band, directed by Ms. Daugherty, earned Superior ratings (all 1’s) in both stage performance and sight reading.
• The Buckhorn High School Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. House, also earned Superior ratings (all 1’s) and received two perfect scores, an outstanding achievement.
We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the leadership of our directors whose dedication continues to build one of the strongest and fastest growing band programs in the region.
With over 600 students participating in band across grades 6 through 12, the Buckhorn Band program continues to grow, thrive, and represent Buckhorn with excellence.
Congratulations to the entire Buckhorn Band family on an amazing MPA.

Buckhorn High School Band was well represented at the Alabama District 1 Honor Band this weekend. These students put in a tremendous amount of hard work under the direction of Dr. Rhoden, and we are incredibly proud of their dedication and achievement.

Congratulations to Wyatt Jordan and Jonah Hambrick for being selected as finalists for the Alabama Music Educators Association Young Composer Contest. Both of these students submitted an excellent original composition in order to be selected.

They were recognized for their achievement at last week's AMEA conference in Birmingham.

Go Bucks! And Go Band!
