Goddard School of New Market wore yellow to show our support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. 🎗️

💛 Did you know? Every year, approximately 400,000 children and adolescents around the world are diagnosed with cancer. Childhood cancer affects not only the child but their entire family, making awareness, research, and support so important.

We wear yellow to honor the brave children fighting cancer, remember those we have lost, and celebrate survivors who continue to inspire us every day. 💛

Get ready for a week of fun, smiles, and school spirit as we come together to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

Each day, show your spirit and help us make a difference for children and families affected by childhood cancer. ❤️

MONDAY – Crazy Hair or Hat Day
Go wild with your hair or wear your favorite silly, fun, or crazy hat!

💛 TUESDAY – Wear Yellow for Childhood Cancer
Let’s fill the school with YELLOW to show our support and raise awareness for childhood cancer!

WEDNESDAY – Superhero Day
Dress like your favorite superhero! Because every child fighting cancer is a superhero.

THURSDAY – PJ Day
Come to school comfy and cozy in your favorite pajamas!

FRIDAY – TRIKATHON!
Bring your bike, tricycle, or scooter to school and get ready to ride!

Together, we can have fun, spread awareness, and help support the incredible work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

HELLO OCTOBER!

October is here, and our preschool classrooms are ready for a month filled with FUN, LEARNING, and a little fall magic!

From counting pumpkins and exploring changing leaves to practicing letters, creating fall art, reading fun stories, singing songs, and learning through play—October gives our little learners so many opportunities to explore and discover!

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
