Introducing the EPIC Impact Award!

At New Lothrop Area Public Schools, we believe that recognizing and celebrating one another is an important part of building a strong school community. "Mrs. Sweers goes above and beyond for all of her students, making sure they get the most out of every part of their school day. She holds her students to high standards and encourages them to work hard and achieve their best. She takes the time to adapt work appropriately for her special education students, helping them feel successful and included in the general education classroom. Mrs. Sweers often takes on addressing the diverse needs of students and never backs away from an opportunity to make a difference. She shows up every day ready to encourage, support, and build meaningful relationships with her students. The time and effort she puts into making each student feel valued and successful truly make a difference!"

Mrs. Beresford’s CER Detectives Carve Out Clues

Putting their investigative tools into practice, Mrs. Beresford’s Study Skills students transformed into detectives to crack the case of the stolen patch pumpkin. To practice their Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) skills, Study Skills students took on the case of the missing prize pumpkin. After gathering evidence from the crime scene and interviewing witnesses, they pieced together the clues to definitively identify the culprit. Not only did Mrs. Beresford's students practice skills to prove exactly who committed the autumn crime, they were able to turn abstract CER concepts into powerful, real-world problem-solving tools, bringing learning to life.
