On Thursday, July 16th, New London FFA member Deegan Parker showed his goats at the Henry County Fair.

Deegan received 5th overall junior breeding doe.

In the market show Deegan Parker received reserve champion heavyweight with his weather. Which he later received 4th overall in the market show.

Deegan also received intermediate division in showmanship.

Congratulations to Deegan for all of his hard work at the fair this year!

Today, the New London FFA Chapter officer team traveled to WACO for the SE District C**T training. There were 184 members from 29 chapters that attended. The workshops facilitated were focused in the areas of advocating for the agriculture industry, connecting with stakeholders, recruiting for the local chapter, and working as a cohesive team. FFA leaders also received training relative to their specific officer duties within the local chapter.

Today, Governor Kim Reynolds signed SF 2219 into law, ensuring students can participate in school-sponsored activities like FFA without being penalized for absences. A big win for the next generation of agricultural leaders in Iowa!

This ICA-backed legislation supports experiential learning opportunities that help shape future leaders in agriculture through hands-on education, leadership development, and career exploration.

Thank you to Governor Reynolds and the legislators who helped get this bill across the finish line and continue supporting the future of Iowa agriculture!
