Tomorrow is our annual Senior Art Show and Fundraiser! We have amazing artists from the high school presenting their art along with ice cream to eat served to you in handmade pottery, and NEW this year - PORTRAIT DRAWINGS in the upstairs mezzanine!

The MSHSL Region 5A Art Festival was hosted at NLS this year with a dozen schools participating in the exhibition. Shout out to Rambow Printing, Unity Stamp Co, The NL Little Theater, Ridgewater College, and the Willmar Barn Theater for providing tours and art activities today. Students left with smiles on their faces and medals around their necks!

NLS walked away with 17 Superior Medals, 8 perfect scores, and FOUR Best in Category wins!

It’s spring in the Middle School Art room.. and that can only mean one thing- creative chaos in the best way! 🎨🖌️

We’ve got a little bit of everything happening right now, and this week everyone is diving into clay! Recently we had our first Explore WIN day where students folded origami cranes and turned the sidewalk into a full-on chalk gallery out front.

We wrapped up 3rd quarter on a high note- 8th graders tackled some seriously impressive 2-point perspective castle drawings, and 7th graders proved that even shoes can be works of art with their observational drawings 👟✏️

Here’s to finishing the year strong…with plenty more messes, masterpieces, and fun moments in between!

Last weekend this NLS group of young artists attended the reception and award ceremony at the Paramount Center for Arts! Kiearah Teeuwen won Honorable Mention for her Quilted Table and Kelsey Schwitters was awarded the AAUW prize of $250 for Family Branches.
All proceeds from the sale of art this month go directly to the students, including Addison Montpetit who sold her piece titled Monarchs.
Such a fun night celebrating these students. If you're in St Cloud this month, go to the Paramount and support a young artist by buying their art!

Congratulations to the eight high school artists selected to represent NLS at the 2026 Juried High School Exhibition at the Paramount Center for the Arts in St Cloud! Artwork will be on display and open to the public during the month of April with a reception Friday, April 10th.
