The Writer’s Block Ink​, founded in 2003, is a 501c3 non-profit organization that ​empowers youth to advance key skills through all aspects of theatre. Our primary mission is to arm young voices with the power of pen and prose, reinforcing teamwork, accountability, and resp

onsibility to ignite social change on the page and stage. Here youth create and perform original, socially-conscious work running the full spectrum of creative arts (writing, dancing, singing, visual arts, etc.). We establish an environment that invites and nurtures individual and collective creativity. We engage youth from all walks of life to use all aspects of visual and performing arts as tools to address personal and social challenges. At the Block, we invite and encourage youth to open up, speak up, create and perform.

On Friday, our Writer's Block team held a Building Blocks event. A free to attend Day camp open to all ages where our teaching staff guided participants through a variety of workshops in drawing, crafting, writing, storytelling and dance.

If you want to help us create an incredible short film, fill out the form linked in our Linktree and submit a video of you reading the excerpt for the character of your choice or share this with someone you think would be interested. And if speaking on screen is too stressful, we’re also looking for scene extras.

Writer’s Block Ink’s Block Print program is for ALL creatives ages 14 and up who want to develop skills in order to tell their stories and get published. Through our literary zine and writing club, participants explore the social issues impacting their lives and turn their ideas into powerful, printed work alongside curated chosen submissions from their community.

Writer’s Block Ink Summer 2026 Film Program is a 7-week day camp for young creatives 14 and up. Participants learn filmmaking from concept to final cut while using film to explore and express the social issues impacting their lives.

June 15th – August 14th

This is a paid program, with payment plans, sliding scale, and scholarship options available.
