167 DAYS. MAKE THEM COUNT.
That’s our challenge this year.
Our students have 167 days in our schools this year.
167 days to learn.
167 days to grow.
167 days to encourage someone.
167 days to do the right thing.
167 days to make someone feel like they belong.
167 opportunities to leave West Rusk a little better than they found it.
And it isn’t just a challenge for our students.
Every person who walks through our doors has the opportunity to MAKE IT COUNT.
That’s why our West Rusk Student Council is starting a new biweekly recognition.
Every two weeks, our STUCO members will choose someone in our Raider family who they believe is MAKING IT COUNT.
It could be a teacher, classmate, custodian, cafeteria worker, bus driver, aide, coach, administrator, office staff member, or anyone else who makes a difference at West Rusk.
And here’s my favorite part.
Our students are the ones watching and choosing.
They notice the person who stays a little later. The one who helps without being asked. The one who speaks up when something isn’t right. The one who gives a little extra encouragement. The one who does their job with pride even when no one seems to be watching.
Our honoree will receive a special MAKE IT COUNT Student Council shirt, and we’ll share the students’ own words about why they chose that person.
Because 167 days may sound like a lot.
But every one of them matters.
167 days. 167 chances. 167 opportunities.
We notice.
MAKE IT COUNT.
One day. One choice. One person at a time.
