February is Black History Month — a time to celebrate the achievements, culture, leadership, and impact of Black Americans throughout history and today.

West Rusk High School is proud to honor voices that have shaped our nation and continue to inspire future generations.

Throughout the month, we will highlight leaders, innovators, artists, educators, and changemakers.

Civil Rights Leader • Visionary • Advocate for Justice

Dr. King led the movement for equality through courage,
peaceful protest, and powerful words that changed history.

“I have a dream.”

His dream continues to inspire generations
to stand for justice, unity, and hope.

West Rusk Community....We Need Your Help!

This season, we are coming together to support local families and our area food bank ....and you can be part of the giving!

We have two ways to give:

WRHS Food Drive-

-Donate canned goods & non-perishable items to help stock the Overton/New London/Leverett’s Chapel Food Bank.
-Donations can be dropped off at the WRHS Office.

Giving Challenge – Fill a Bag, Feed a Family-

We are providing bags with a shopping list to help WR families in need create a full Thanksgiving meal.

You can:
-Pick up a bag & a shopping list from the high school office
-Fill it with the listed items
-Return the bag to the WRHS office
-OR you may donate $50, the approximate cost of the bag contents, and our organization will go shopping for you!

In addition to filling meal bags, we are also asking community members to bake pies and cakes to donate, so each family can enjoy a special dessert with their Thanksgiving meal.
