A reminder to our Gracie Barra New Lenox family: we will be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

As the holiday approaches, we want to recognize the hardworking men and women whose dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance continue to build, protect, and strengthen our community every day.

Hard work, discipline, resilience, and service to others are values we deeply respect—both on and off the mats. Labor Day gives us an opportunity to honor those who live these values through the work they do for their families, their neighbors, and their community.

Last night at our seminar with Professor Sergio Costa, we witnessed a truly unforgettable father-and-son moment. 🥋💙

Fernando and his son, Jaden, started their Jiu-Jitsu journey together as white belts, sharing the mats and growing side by side from the very beginning.

Last night, they reached another milestone together as both earned their blue belts.

With Professor Sergio Costa’s permission, Fernando had the special honor of tying Jaden’s blue belt around his son’s waist. 💙

A father. A son. Teammates from day one. Now blue belts together.

Jiu-Jitsu is about so much more than belts—it’s about the journey, the memories, and the bonds we build along the way.

Congratulations, Fernando and Jaden! A moment you’ll both remember forever. 🥋💙

What an incredible experience at Gracie Barra New Lenox! 🥋🔺

We had the honor of hosting an amazing seminar with Professor Sergio Costa ⚜️ , bringing our team together for a day filled with high-level Jiu-Jitsu, incredible techniques, great energy, and even stronger connections on the mats.

Professor Sergio shared his knowledge and experience with our students, giving everyone the opportunity to learn, grow, and take their Jiu-Jitsu to another level. 🙏

We also celebrated our belt grading, recognizing the hard work, dedication, consistency, and progress of our students. Congratulations to everyone who earned a new belt, stripes, and moved forward in rank! Every promotion represents countless hours on the mats and a commitment to becoming better every day. 💪🥋

More than anything, this was a day of team, family, growth, and unforgettable memories.

Thank you, Professor Sergio Costa, for sharing your knowledge and energy with us, and thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so special.
