Band camp is officially in the books, but we couldn't close out these two very busy weeks without thanking the incredible parents, volunteers and local businesses who helped make it all happen!
It takes a lot of people behind the scenes to keep nearly 200 students and staff going through band camp. Meals need to be picked up and served. Water and Gatorade need to stay flowing. Props need to be built. Uniforms need some magic. Spirit wear needs to be organized. Kids need Band-Aids, ice packs and the occasional little TLC. And that's only the beginning.
Whether you served a meal, donated food or supplies, worked on a prop, helped with uniforms, supervised students, filled water coolers, hauled equipment, cleaned up or simply jumped in wherever you were needed ...THANK YOU. So much of what is needed to make the band work happens behind the scenes.
The volunteers pictured here are just a few of the MANY people who gave their time over the past two weeks. We may not have caught everyone on camera, but please know how much every helping hand is appreciated!
We are also incredibly grateful to the local businesses that helped feed a whole lot of hungry marching band kids! Thank you to Aurelio's Pizza Mokena, Beggar's Pizza Mokena, Berkot's Super Foods, Joey's Red Hots, Nancy's Pizza Mokena, Nicky V's, Pizza Mia and Gattos for generously donating dinners during camp.
Many of these businesses also participate in our SIAM Card program, so when you have the opportunity, please show them some love and thank them for supporting the Lincoln-Way Marching Band!
It takes a pretty amazing community to make all of this happen. We're pretty lucky to have this one. ❤️💙🧡💛
