Our discovery preschool program spent the month of July learning and exploring all things water! They created a waterfall with legos representing grass and water, made a car wash, explored in the sensory table and even checked out what happens when you try to mix oil and water. They also focusing on colors shapes and beginning writing.

The past 2 weeks our preschool classrooms have been busy learning about books.
Illustrating their own books, creating coconut trees, bookmarks and even their own rainbow fish.
These activities are great for the children to use as a retell activity at home, practice letter writing and recognition and using their imaginations to create a different version of the stories they read.

We even had a special visit from the new Lenox library to read books about the ocean, learn fun movement and finger play songs and a bonus craft to work fine motor skills and color matching

For the month of April our Discovery Preschool class is working on “plants and gardens” they are talking about what a plant needs to grow, examining different flowers and garden food, seeing what happens when you plant a potato and using shapes to create their own flower garden!

This Month our infant classroom is learning about “Growing gardens”
They are exploring and searching for flowers along with stamping watering cans for their paper flower garden they are working on!

“My favorite thing about working here is watching all the children I have had grow and just getting to know them, along with all the great staff and their great personalities that I have had the pleasure of meeting. My goals at KinderCare are to always make sure the children know that they are heard and cared about as well as always helping them reach their full potential.

In 2017 I started working at NISEC (Northwest Indiana Special Education School). I learned so much from being there and it was so rewarding. It was definitely hard to leave them. After this is when I chose to go back to school and further my education to continue working with children.

Outside of work I enjoy relaxing at home by maybe watching a good movie or maybe cooking which I also love to do. I’m always spending whatever time I have with family, friends and all my nieces and nephews.”
