Stay & Play Childcare Providing hourly and weekly childcare for New Kent County, Virginia. Come on over and play! You decide which plan works for you.

We offer hourly or weekly rates for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Hourly rates are between $9.95 and $11.95 depending on age (hourly sibling discount), and weekly rates range from $100 to $239.

Stay & Play will open at 8am on Wednesday, January 28. This will allow everyone to have daylight as they make their way through icy back roads. Please use extreme caution at the centers as icy conditions may still be present. NK schools are out tomorrow so our regular school aged kids are welcome to attend for the full day.

Well, we didn't get much melting today and overnight temps will make this whole mess even worse. Due to icy conditions, Stay & Play will be closed on Tuesday, January 27th. We will do our best to open on Wednesday - I will update everyone tomorrow. Stay safe!

Temperatures will be dangerously low tonight and are not scheduled to rise above freezing until almost noon tomorrow, leaving our parking areas and ramps icy for most of the day. Due to this prediction, Stay & Play will be closed tomorrow, December 9th. We apologize for any inconvenience.

NKSO CONCLUDES INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGATIONS AT STAY AND PLAY DAYCARE

The New Kent County Sheriff's Office has concluded an investigation into allegations of child abuse at Stay & Play Daycare. The investigation began after a former employee reported alleged incidents of abuse.

Deputies conducted a thorough investigation, including interviewing multiple witnesses and conducting follow-ups. Based on the evidence gathered, the New Kent Sheriff's Office determined that the allegations were unfounded and lacked credibility.

As a result of the investigation, She’lea Haskins, 34, of Toano, VA, has been charged with the following offenses:

• False Report to Law Enforcement (§18.2-461)
• Obstruction of Justice (§18.2-460)
• Slander (§18.2-417)

She’lea Haskins is scheduled to appear in New Kent General District Court on March 4, 2025, at 8:00 AM.

The New Kent Sheriff's Office takes all allegations seriously and remains committed to conducting thorough investigations to ensure justice and the safety of our community.
