- the 2034 challenge continues into 2024!!
So, here's a '24 recap, so far!

JANUARY - Butterfly Run - completed at Iberia Medical Center Cardiopulmonary Rehab Center [here to referred to as my "indoor" location and "run" on a recumbent elliptical machine] in honor of my late sister, whose birthday is in January - she was the ๐ฆbutterfly to my ๐ladybug.
FEBRUARY - Despite very cold and windy conditions, and misdirections on the course, I did manage to cross the finish of the ๐ช๐ฉ๐จKing Cake Run to benefit the Faith House of Acadiana. Though it was not officially 5k after all, everyone did the best they could under some adverse weather conditions.
... but also in February, I accepted the ๐ธLeap Year Dare challenge (indoors) and made a 4-week commitment to complete 2k the 1st week, 4k the 2nd week, 6k the 3rd week, and 8k the 4th week.
MARCH - I Hit the Road for Hospice of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA - finishing their 5k, to honor my late father-in-law, OJ Stanfield.
APRIL - Brought the ๐Solar Eclipse Run (indoors) on the day of the eclipse. It was an "easy" 2.4 miles but what fun to celebrate a special day in our celestial calendar!
-- finished up April with the New Iberia Spanish Festival's ๐Running of the Bulls 5k in downtown New Iberia. Whew! it was HOT and humid, but I was determined to get it done... and I did, finishing as the "bull's tail" - the last to cross the finish line! But no shame in my game - I was the only 70+ female in the race so I was awarded the ๐ฅ1st place medal! YAY! ๐
Next up? The Bayou Side 5 K Run 1 Mile Walk - I plan to complete the 5k, of course. It benefits the ๐ง Iberia Mental Health Initiative and will be right here along Bayou Teche in New Iberia on Saturday, May 4th. Still time to sign up if you want to walk with me! :-)
