ACADEMIC VOCAB WORD OF THE WEEK: Observe

MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2026
TOP CUB DDD: DOES NOT START UNTIL SEPTEMBER 14th. I will send the dress down day guidelines before it starts to all students who qualify.
NUMERACY TESTING: Today for 3rd grade in the library. This is similar to DIBELS, but for math fluency. Please make sure your child is present and on time!
CAR LINE: PLEASE remember to pull up as close as possible to the car in front of you when in the line. Many picking up and dropping off are leaving enough room for another vehicle to fit. I am also asking that for morning drop off that your child is ready to go BEFORE you get to your drop off spot between the two cones. These things may sound petty or unimportant, but I can promise you that it makes a difference in time. Anyone who arrives after 8:05 will have to be signed into the office.
LUNCH VISITORS: Lunch visitors will not be allowed starting today until September 4th due to testing. We must maintain a secure test environment during these coming weeks. NEW THIS YEAR: Lunch visitors are only allowed on Fridays once testing has finished.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2026
TAG TUESDAY: Will be announced during morning announcements. Students are allowed to wear their AR shirt with UNIFORM BOTTOMS.
NUMERACY TESTING: Today for 2nd grade. Please make sure your child is present and on time!
SIGNED PAPERS: Go home today.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2026
NUMERACY TESTING: Today for 1st grade in the library. Please make sure your child is present and on time!
WDW: For students with 100A in conduct from the week before. Favorite shirt with jeans. Please make sure that jeans are solid BLUE in color and are not embellished or have rips/tears. Students who can not follow the rules will not be allowed to wear jeans on WDW.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 2026
NUMERACY TESTING: Today for Kindergarten in the library. A runner will go and get students to be tested.
RECESS: Please remind students that playing for recess is welcome, but we have to be mindful of how rough we are playing. We want them to be able to get that energy out, but it has to be done safely.

BULLETIN FOR THE WEEK OF August 17 – August 21, 2026

ACADEMIC VOCAB WORD OF THE WEEK: Represent

MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 2026
TOP CUB DDD: DOES NOT START UNTIL SEPTEMBER 14th. I will send the dress down day guidelines before it starts to all students who qualify.
DIBELS TESTING: Today for 3rd grade. Please encourage students to try their best, eat a good breakfast and be on time. Please also remind the older students that they need to be patient this week and on their best behavior this week.
LUNCH VISITORS: Lunch visitors will not be allowed until September 4th since we are testing. We must maintain a secure test environment during these coming weeks. NEW THIS YEAR: In order to maintain a secure campus, we are only allowing lunch guests on Fridays. This will start in September since we are testing.
BUS PAPERS: We will be putting bright yellow papers in the back sleeve of the RED communicator folder of ALL BUS RIDERS. Student information will be on these pages so bus drivers have access to contact info for all students. From time to time, we have to split routes and it is vital for bus drivers to have contact info for these students. Many students don’t know their address or phone number, especially our little ones, which is why we are implementing this procedure. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS PAGE FROM YOUR CHILD’S RED FOLDER.
BOY PAPERWORK: Please make sure to completely fill out all beginning of the year paperwork and return it ASAP. It is vital that we have the most current, accurate information on all students. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Rainy Day Dismissal: There is ONLY one line when it is raining.
Please have your child's tag number facing the ***cafeteria doors***, as you approach the school. We will enter your tag number in our app!
This will insure that your child is called in a timely manner, he or she is ready for pick up, and the line can move without delay.

MONDAY, AUGUST 10, 2026
TOP CUB DDD: DOES NOT START TODAY. Begins September 14th. I will send the dress down day guidelines before it starts for those students who have earned this incentive.
KINDER TESTING: Continues until tomorrow.
LEXIA: Lexia placement testing starts today. Please stress the importance of taking this seriously since it will determine the amount of time prescribed for the year.
HEADPHONES: Please make sure your child has a pair of headphones to keep at school. It is very important that they have these for Lexia and Zearn lessons.
BUSES: Please be patient with us as we iron out our bus routes. We are trying to make these routes as efficient as possible and work out all of the kinks before our K and Pre-K students begin. Thanks in advance!

Orientation is complete, and we are counting down the days until we welcome our Caneview Cubs on Friday! From our incredible teachers and staff to our newest and returning students, this school year is filled with endless possibilities.

The online pay system has had some technical difficulties and will NOT be ready for orientation tomorrow. ONLY CASH will be accepted tomorrow. NO CHECKS. Orientation fees are $15.00. Please bring the exact amount.

As we head into orientation tomorrow, don't forget our **clear bag policy**. Please make sure you bring a clear bag if you'll be bringing personal items into the building. We appreciate your help in making check-in quick and smooth. See you tomorrow!

Thank you so much to Southern Sass Boutique for donating so many items for our students! We are so thankful and grateful for the support!

What an incredible night. ❤️

As we take a moment to reflect on our Style Show, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. This event was about so much more than fashion—it was about loving our community and making a difference together.

Because of every person who purchased a ticket, every business and individual who donated, every model who walked the runway, and every volunteer who gave their time behind the scenes, we were able to bless students at Caneview Elementary and Iberia Middle School with totes filled with school uniforms, school supplies, sanitary items, and other everyday necessities.

Every clap, every ticket, every donation, every helping hand made this possible. It truly took a village, and we are so thankful to have such an amazing one.

To everyone who supported this event in any way—thank you. Your generosity is a reminder that when a community comes together with a servant’s heart, incredible things happen.

We pray these totes are more than just supplies. We pray they remind each student and family that they are seen, loved, and supported.
