Meet our front desk secretary, Ms. Reyes. 🖤📞

💙💚 Secretary Spotlight: Jessica Reyes | Iberia Middle School

For Jessica Reyes, her first year with IPSD has been filled with something new around every corner—and that’s exactly what she’s enjoying about it.

Jessica loves learning new skills and spending her days interacting with students and coworkers. She describes the camaraderie among the IMS staff as one of her favorite parts of the job, joking that being around the students helps keep everyone young: “They’re lovely.”

She’s also quickly discovering just how unique the role of a school secretary can be. Secretaries become the keepers of names and faces, learning the people who make up their school community and getting a glimpse into their lives along the way. For Jessica, those connections have also taught her the importance of finding a balance between a little tough love and a bleeding heart.

Her advice to students is simple and practical: Be yourself, be on time, be responsible, and remember that honesty is key.

Outside of school, Jessica loves to read and even writes short stories of her own!

When asked what makes Iberia Middle School special, Jessica didn’t hesitate—the staff. She describes the people around her as hardworking, endearing, and funny, making her first year with IPSD an exciting one already.

🤖Ms. Rodrigue’s robotics class finally got to take out the robots and dive into the fun! Students learned how to put them together, connect them, and get them up and running. 🚀

This is just the beginning… on to even more exciting challenges and learning! 🦾
