Today is a somber occasion for me. It may be the third year not celebrating my father's birthday, but it's the third Mitzvah Day in general. Even though some will not participate because of confusion, I want to express what you do without realizing it. When people post things about the good that is coming out of their lives, it makes me happy. Knowing people are celebrating accomplishments in their lives, I see good happening for everybody and their families. From parenthood to career acomplishments, moving forward in general. These things you post brighten my day because I see the good we do and the accomplishments it brings. So I say thank you to everybody. You may not realize it, but you put a smile on my face when I see you all happy.

Yesterday while at Target, I didn't have enough for coffee. As I was about to leave an elderly lady turned to the cashier and said "I will pay for that." She looked at me and said "Everybody needs coffee." I told her that is was okay and yet, she insisted. She explained that she felt it was the right thing to do.

The stone itself isn't just about what type of person Harvey was, but the quote on the bottom is something he always said because it is what he believed. As long as you are a part of this page, you are apart of this team. We should always continue to do a MITZVAH for others. Not because we have to or need to, but because we want to.

As I was taking in the unveiling of my father's tombstone, it was given that people were going to get very emotional. But as people took a glance at rivah, their tears turned into smiles. Her presence and infectious smile made everybody feel better.

After parking to go to the supermarket a gentleman approached me and offered his ticket for the municipal parking. There was 2 hours left on it. After being out for 10 minutes and heading back to the car, I gave this ticket to a lady who had just parked. She was so thankful. Paying it forward can sometimes brighten the day of many. Nothing was as rewarding than to see a stranger offer something and a another smile and say thank you. It was worth it.

I want to thank everybody who contributed to the page yesterday. Though it didn't seem like much, the smiles you put on people's faces are worth it. Not just yesterday, but everyday. Harvey would've been proud. Not just for doing it in his honor, but because the smiles you put on other people's face is priceless. So thank you again.
