Happy, happy birthday to me. 🥳 My beautiful self. ✨My goodness it has been one hell of a roller coaster 🎢 of a year for me! So many ups ⬆️ and too many really dark downs.

But what a wonderful day like a birth day to remember just how grateful we are to be alive! Another day. ☀️ Another year. 🗓️

What an incredible blessing. I’m so grateful for the love, the loss. The experiences. I spent an incredible 17 days with my gorgeous daughters in the most beautiful places. Truly magnificent. Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, The Vatican, The Amalfi Coast but absolutely nothing, nothing compared to the love of my Sicilian 🇮🇹 Family.

Thank you so so much to Adriana Mulè who was only 12 years old the last time I was there. And now all grown up this beautiful woman and her husband gave up their entire apartment to host the girls and I. Beautiful places, feasts upon feasts with love, laughter and food oh my goodness the food. I am so absolutely blessed. Thank you Laura Accardo - ti voglio tanto bene. Daniela Calandrino, Enrico Accardo, Giuseppa Mancuso. The stories of my ancestors. My heart ❤️ is so beyond full.

Its so easy to focus on what we don’t have but to be loved is life’s greatest gift. There’s nothing more I could have asked for this year. This trip changed my life, my trajectory and what is truly important in life.

I’ve been in hibernation 😴 mode for quite a few weeks 🗓️ and have been focusing on myself more through some major ebbs and flows. 🌊

The girls and I spent the end of our summer ☀️ on a European 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇫🇷 🇮🇹 adventure and it was absolutely magnificent. So much medicine for my soul - especially time spent with my beautiful family in Alcamo and my Zia in Siracusa.

I had such a fun time teaching kindness at the YMCA Long Island - Huntington today. This picture really says it all. All these beautiful beings of light. Each one with a unique personality. I’m so grateful that I get to do this work. That I get to spend time with them.

I’m so blessed to have taken a vision and brought it to fruition. I know so many don’t get that chance. There’s not a day that I don’t feel thankful. I still continue to make mistakes - in business, in life but the one thing I can honestly say is that I never give up. I’m not sure where resiliency really comes from. Is it from having a difficult path - some say yes but I’m not sure that’s all it is because we know some people don’t make it.

I was just watching the dark side of television documentary and it hurts my heart really that there is so much darkness in the world. I’m glad I get to do my little part and get paid to do it. Making money doing something you really love has got to be one of the most wonderful definitions of success. Though 2023 was one with many challenges it also brought many dreams to life and it is the first year that I made just as much money at my “day job” as I did at my “side hustle” and while they’re just numbers on a page it really meant a lot to me because I have zero experience running a business.

I’ve poured so much money and energy into it and there were so many years I was losing money doing it but I kept going because money was never really driving me. Accountants would tell me to give up because “it’s really just an expensive hobby” but I’m really glad I didn’t listen.

I’ve done plenty of things most people think are crazy or a waste of time and this is no different. I’m so grateful for so many people who have believed in me and my work including the YMCA of Long Island and I’m really grateful for the light in me that keeps going despite all the overwhelming challenges sometimes.

I’m really not feeling my best today but I’m glad I got up and got out because tomorrow is not promised and I’m grateful I got to do this for one more day. 💗💗
