Steve Ryan offers private instruction in voice and piano to students of all ages, at all levels. He has also provided direction for various a ca****la groups.
Steve Ryan grew up in Sergeantsville, NJ and graduated from Westminster Choir College in Princeton with a degree in piano and voice. Locally, he has performed with and directed such groups as The Opera Festival of New Jersey, Princeton Opera, and Trenton Civic Opera, to name just a few. While at Westminster, he had the good fortune of performing under the batons of Leonard Bernstein, Riccardo Muti
, Giancarlo Menotti, and Joseph Flummerfelt. Steve moved to New York City to pursue his musical dreams where he worked with such notables as Julie Andrews and Kristin Chenoweth, and in such venues as City Center, Avery Fisher and Carnegie Hall. His time in NYC was peppered with national tours and local productions. He is a singer, pianist, music director, and teacher. Nicole Johnson (Miss America 1999) called upon Steve’s musical arranging talents for her wedding music. He returned home in 2011 and has been busy as a private voice and piano instructor, teaching students of all ages—from 8 to 89—the joy of expression through music. He is also a Private Vocal Coach and Accompanist at Rider University's Westminster College of the Arts in the Musical Theatre Department, as well as Music Director for the Off-Broadstreet Theatre in Hopewell, NJ. Lambertville resident Jeannie Castells is delighted Steve has come back, “Now Steve is back in Lambertville—lucky Lambertville! I already have my granddaughter enrolled in piano classes with Steve and I am planning to start voice lessons with him in the fall. There is so much joy in training with Steve. He not only knows every aspect of musicianship, he brings an enthusiasm to it that is totally his own and totally infectious. Steve Ryan is a true Lambertville musical treasure.”
His hours are flexible, including after school on weekdays and also weekends. The cost is reasonable and the experience will last a lifetime. Lessons may be 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Students must give 24 hours' notice for cancellation in order to avoid being charged for scheduled lessons, unless due to illness or emergency.
