Rangoli is an ancient pan-Indian line drawn folk art practiced all over India under a variety of names including Kolam, Alpana, Chaookpurna, Saathiya and Sanjhi.
Designs may be drawn as a daily ritual or for special occasions and constructed on doorsteps, floors and walls with a variety of materials including flower petals, leaves, seeds, rice powder, and in our case chalk.
Our Rangoli event was in colorful anticipation of Holi, which we will celebrate soon.
