Everyone told us the hardest part about running a butcher shop is finding people who want to work. Young talent in the industry is almost non existent. We were lucky enough to interview several and Brooke blew us away with her knowledge and skill. Truly an honor to have her on our team!! She shares our mission & vision at Affinity Farms to build food systems that serve our community, and to top it off she’s from here. Brooke is coming home to not only make an impact but to teach the next generation of butchers. Welcome to the team Brooke!

We are excited to announce Brooke Cooper as our plant lead and manager at the butcher shop! Brooke has extensive education and resume in the processing industry and she’s local to the area. A huge win for the butcher shop and the farm. We are so grateful and thankful to have Brooke on board! Everyone has been so welcoming to us as we work hard to open the butcher shop next week, we know the community will extend that same hospitality to Brooke!!

Very cool!

We found the jar with the raffle tickets!! After taking several phone calls and text messages about last year’s hunters for the hungry r***e give away we went looking through the butcher shop at Loretto and found the jar with the raffle tickets. Huge shout out to Blue Collar Boys Afield who agreed to order the the r***e and help us honor that program from last year. They called today, the r***e is in! We will go Facebook live this week from the Blue Collar Boys Afield in Springfield to draw the winner! Stay tuned, more to come!!

Huge shout out to Samuel for completing one of his personal goals he set this year to run a marathon! I’m always inspired by the personal growth our team sets for themselves, the hard work they put in at the farm and in their personal lives. Then watching them accomplish those goals is truly rewarding. Congratulations to Samuel!
