Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Spain, Mexico, Central and South America. We encourage students, families and staff to participate in events and activities related to this celebration.

Edgewood School held a meaningful morning announcement program to observe September 11th. Fourth-grade teacher Jacklyn Tolkin opened with a soulful rendition of "God Bless America," and our 7th graders led the school in the Pledge of Allegiance. Following a brief message on the bravery and compassion shown by everyday heroes, music teacher Hillyn Natter led students Mei Lin Perrone, Eliza Maeve Borne-Brennan, and Sekai Tengatenga in singing the National Anthem. We wrapped up our time with a moment of silence, remembering that kindness, bravery, and unity make us strong. ❤️

⚙️ Martinez Fourth grade engineers are learning all about the engineering design process through our first STEM Challenge! Today we identified a problem and began designing solutions in collaborative teams! 💡
