📸FLASHBACK FRIDAY (FEBRUARY 2024) Kenwood High School Students Explore Career Opportunities in Construction at Inaugural KENTalk 🚧 James Fifer, Vice President of Program Management (MILHOUSE), and Brennan Ivory, Program Manager of Construction (MILHOUSE), were honored to speak to forty Kenwood High School students at the inaugural KENTalk event-themed "A Career In Construction." Tanya Bennett, founder of Push 365 Event Group and Kenwood Academy Alumna, created this event to bring resources to students about careers in construction with the support of Principal Karen Calloway. MILHOUSE attended this collaborative and informative morning, alongside Powers & Sons, Ujamaa, Brown Momen, Taylor Electric, and Ardmore Roderick, alongside Chicago Build, Dawson Technical College, Mad Hatter, and the City Colleges of Chicago. ❤️ The KENTalk event provided an exceptional opportunity for high school students to engage with industry-leading construction companies owned by African American men from Chicago. The students learned about various aspects of the construction industry, gaining insights into entrepreneurship and career pathways. 🐎 Bronco Alum James Fifer stated, "It was good to come to the place it started for me. Events like these play a crucial role in inspiring the next generation of leaders in the construction industry." 💙 Students actively engaged with panelists, explored on-site vendors showcasing job opportunities, and enjoyed a networking lunch.
