Within the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the Department also offers Ph.D. degrees in Music History, Music Theory, and Ethnomusicology.

We warmly invite faculty, students, and staff to attend the 10th Biennial Yale Graduate Music Symposium, taking place February 6–7, 2026, at Stoeckel Hall, Yale University.

The symposium will feature graduate research presentations, lecture-recitals, and discussions spanning music theory, musicology, ethnomusicology, composition, and related fields. We look forward to bringing together scholars and musicians for two days of vibrant exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.
