Family Academy of Multilingual Exploration is located in the heart of the Fair Haven community in New Haven, CT. This neighborhood is known for attracting various immigrant groups throughout its history. Currently our school has a Dual Language curriculum that develops students' oral and academic proficiency in both English and Spanish through scientific inquiry. Our Code of Conduct reflects our commitment to a safe school environment. Every member of our community practices respect and kindness in order to honor everyone they encounter. Our new state of the art building has already won some architectural awards for its efficiency and aesthetics.

Flu Vaccines Available at School — At No Cost! 💙

Parents/Guardians,

Today or tomorrow, your student will be coming home with a flu vaccine consent form from the School-Based Health Clinic. If you would like your child to receive their flu vaccine at school, simply complete and sign the form and return it to the school.

A few important reminders:

💉 Flu vaccines are provided at no cost through the School-Based Health Clinic.
✍️ We will never give a flu vaccine without parent/guardian consent.
👨‍👩‍👧 Students in Pre-K–2nd grade must be accompanied by an adult when receiving their vaccine.
🧑‍🎓 Older students may receive their vaccine independently in the school clinic with parent/guardian consent.

We are already starting to see positive flu cases in our community, so now is a great time to help protect your child and keep our school community healthy this flu season!

Please look for the consent form in your child’s backpack and return it to the school if you would like them to participate.

💻✨ Our Kindergarteners are getting tech-ready!

This week at FAME, our Kindergarten students learned how to use their Chromebooks—from carrying their devices safely and signing in with passwords to using the trackpad and mouse. Our classrooms were buzzing with excitement!

Next week, they’ll be bold, brave, and ready to put their new skills into action during the i-Ready Diagnostic. We can’t wait to see them shine! 🌟

This week, our students in Grades 2–8 have been working hard on their beginning-of-the-year assessments! From reading and math to science, they have been focused, determined, and ready to show just how much they know. 💪🧠

Hello, FAME families!

You are invited to our FAME Open House on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

During the Open House, families will have an opportunity to meet their students’ teachers in their classrooms. Each grade level will offer four 25-minute sessions. The same information will be presented during every session, so you only need to attend one session for each of your students.

The session times are:
- Session 1: 5:00 to 5:25 p.m.
- Session 2: 5:30 to 5:55 p.m.
- Session 3: 6:00 to 6:25 p.m.
- Session 4: 6:30 to 6:55 p.m.

An announcement will be made when it is time to move to the next session.

Food and snacks will be available for purchase. Community agencies will also be available to share helpful information and resources, and free books will be available for families.

Please enter the building through the bus doors on Blatchley Avenue.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to FAME Open House. We hope to see you there!

Están invitadas a nuestra Jornada de Puertas Abiertas de FAME el miércoles 16 de septiembre, de 5:00 a 7:00 de la tarde.

🌟 Meet Jennifer Chisholm, FAME’s school counselor!
With 27 years of experience, Ms. Chisholm is here to support FAME students, families, and staff. From academic and high school planning to individual and small-group counseling, classroom lessons, and social-emotional support, she helps students feel heard, supported, and ready to grow.
When she’s not at FAME, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, attending concerts, cheering at her children’s sporting events, and loving on her rescue dog, Calvin! 🐾
