With proud smiles and a few happy tears, our sixth-grade students celebrated a memorable graduation ceremony on Wednesday as they marked the end of their journey at St. Thomas’s Day School. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and classmates, graduates reflected on cherished memories, lasting friendships, and the lessons that have shaped them along the way.
Becker Chase '95 was the Graduation speaker and he spoke to the class with honesty and fond memories of his time at St. T's. "I remember thinking how much I felt at peace here, in this beautiful chapel where we had started every school day since I was four, immersed in song, reflection, and togetherness. Those feelings - which many of you are probably sharing right now - I still carry with me every day. And I am confident it is my secret to being such a cheerful New Yorker."
The entire St. Thomas's community wishes the Class of 2026 every success as they begin the next chapter of their journey!

As the school year winds down, it wouldn’t feel complete without Field Day—and today's celebration was everything we hoped for and more. The weather was perfect, school spirit was everywhere, and sportsmanship shined throughout the day. To top it off, everyone enjoyed the Kona Ice truck after lunch.
Students proudly teamed up in their color groups for a morning filled with games, laughter, and friendly competition, all leading up to the highly anticipated tug-of-war showdown. In a tradition that never seems to change, Kindergarten once again proved unstoppable and claimed bragging rights over the entire school! 😍With Field Day in the books, we’re ready for one final milestone: graduation next week.

Our first graders suited up as superheroes for Super Readers Day on Thursday, celebrating the power of books, imagination, and a love of reading! They 'flew' through campus reading books to community members and by the end of the day, it was clear that our campus was in very good hands—super readers to the rescue!

Thinking Big with Mr. Crawford and Technology: At St. Thomas’s Day School, creative expression and purposeful technology use go hand in hand. Students visit the Innovation Lab several times each week to design, create, explore, problem-solve, and think critically while building meaningful technology skills. Through hands-on experiences with a variety of digital tools, students learn to use technology not simply as consumers, but as active creators and collaborators.
“More than any specific tool or skill, I hope students leave my classroom understanding that technology is something they create with, not just consume,” says Mr. Crawford, Technology Coordinator. “That philosophy has always shaped how St. Thomas’s approaches technology, and it guides everything we do in the Innovation Lab.” Read more on our 'Thinking Big' blog here: https://stthomasday.org/thinking-big-with-mr-crawford-technology/

This month, we share another parent testimonial because hearing directly from parents offers an authentic look at school life and builds trust. Plus, there’s no better perspective than the people living it every day. Stay tuned for stories that capture the heart of our school and why families chose St. Thomas's.
"In addition to the incredible education, we felt like the St. Thomas's community values aligned with those we emphasize at home, and that our son would benefit from that consistency across both." Learn more about our community here: https://stthomasday.org
