Throwback to our Grade 2/3 thematic study showcase, where the classrooms transformed into an underwater world! 🌊🐠 Through research, writing, art, and presentation, students became marine life experts: sharing essays about the animals they studied while wearing the incredible costumes they designed and created themselves.

Carla brings decades of leadership experience in independent schools, including serving as Head of School at The Kew-Forest School in New York and Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr. A longtime New Haven resident, she also held several leadership roles at Hopkins School and is deeply committed to educational excellence.

Now back in New Haven to be closer to family and friends, Carla is looking forward to joining the Cold Spring School community. We are thrilled to have her with us! 💚

If you ask a Cold Spring student what makes our school special, their answer almost always comes back to the same thing: community. 💚

From Preschool through Sixth Grade, our students talk about kindness, feeling known, and having the confidence to make mistakes because they know they’ll be supported every step of the way. When children feel safe to be themselves, they’re empowered to take risks, ask questions, and discover a genuine love of learning.

It’s why so many of our alumni return years later—whether they’re in high school, college, or building their careers—to tell us that Cold Spring helped shape who they are. There is no greater compliment than hearing, “I wouldn’t be where I am today without this community.”

As we watched our graduates take this next step, there was a mix of pride, joy, and tears. We know they are ready to spread their wings, and we can’t wait to see where their journeys take them.
