CALL TO ACTION:
Let’s make this a great January! The study noted here discusses how braille could be read and maybe even written using a pen! More work has to be done on this, but one could imagine the pen having a sensor that stimulates the neurons in the fingers during the reading/writing process.
Remember that the fingertips are most sensitive to mechanical stimuli and that rapid adapting (RA) receptors are important for analyzing information during touch. Also, the skin's mechanoreceptors in the palms and fingers are involved in braille reading.
So we are raising money to support this type of research, and to support trauma patients with their neuropathy.!

Let’s make this year great with a January fundraiser start.
In fact let’s start with Braille. Now National Braille Day is Jan 4th. And you might think Braille is just that bumpy language so blind people can read a menu. But it is so much more than that.
Did you know that a study examined how the skin's mechanoreceptors in the palms and fingers are involved in braille reading. The study found that the fingertips are most sensitive to mechanical stimuli and that rapid adapting (RA) receptors are important for analyzing information during touch.
It could very well be that Braille may support the recovery of many trauma patients experiencing neuropathy or limitations in touch-perception thresholds.

In line with supporting brain health, we’ve finally beta tested some word search games
Let us know how you like them.
We will try to post regularly on this.
Remember for all those with brain injuries and other brain ailments, doing word search puzzles helps refocus your mind, strengthen your neural networks, and improves your vocabulary recall.
