1. This is a game, play it like it’s a game. It’s not that serious 😉

2. If *everything* is consciousness, and everything is collaborating with your intention, how are you going to address the forms around you? You’re polite, gentle, inviting, gracious, playful! You’re grateful, understanding, collaborative!

3. Imagine that all the things are working *with* you- you’re not the only one pushing against reality to “change” or create something.

4. Time is a state of being. Be present INSIDE of time and you’ll always experience “ON time.” (Be rushing and you’ll always experience “being late”.)

Let’s get clear on this:
What is your responsibility?
What is an *expectation* that you’ve been calling a responsibility?

I’ll go first:

Responding to emails within 12 hours - expectation! NOT responsibility.

Making sure couples have a great wedding at my farm: expectation, not responsibility.

Entertaining my 7yo: expectation, not responsibility!

But boy can I let these ideals sap my energy.

There are A LOT of things we call responsibility that actually aren’t- they’re expectations we invent, and they drain our energy and keep us from doing the s**t we’d really love to be doing- being creative, joyful, powerful humans.

Responsibility is something much more core to your souls purpose. For me it’s communicating my mission. It’s being a steward the earth I live on. It’s letting love flow from me. These are the things that make me vital, that have my energy flowing- they are my responsibility.

Output: production, doing, action-based, result-based, this is what we traditionally think of as productivity

Input: inspiration, connection, consumption of art, content, resources, filling up your cup. This is what fuels output.

Rest: pure and simple- zero expectation. This is just science- it’s literally essential to maintaining our energy and health, therefore essential productivity.

The cycle: input, output, rest.

Everything in life can fall within these categories, even “mundane” caregiving and housekeeping stuff- you’re prompted to look for the input.

Ask yourself: “what am I receiving from this moment?” You’ll find that you can value and appreciate the most mundane moments as “refueling” for your next “output.”

Talent is usually measured by external comparison: your ability in comparison to others.

Let’s make the first priority to chase what we truly LOVE doing! (That’s an INTERNAL measure). Usually that ends up being something we’re great at anyway.

And of course, the two aren’t mutually exclusive- but you’re talented at many things. And if you chase one talent just because you feel obligated to make good on the “gift” you received, you may end up wayyy down a detour to your true fulfillment.

My soul came here to experience playing this very thrilling human game of *limitlessness within the clever constraints of being human.* Some of the constraints are very practical. And some… are very self-imposed and feel honestly silly under the clarity of consciousness.

Like the trap of your “identity,” your choice of relationship, where you decide to live, all the fun stuff you want to do but say you say you can’t do. The ‘work’ struggle you revel in every day, subtly victimizing yourself so you can feel worthwhile at the end of the day.

“I’ve done so many things but it’s NEVER ENOUGH.”

YES. You are winning at the game you created!

Being victimized by your chase for the elusive answer: can I truly feel limitless in the human experience?

We can, if we take pure responsibility for our lives. And I mean this in the gentlest, most lighthearted way possible. The path here is *levity*:

“If I’ve created the challenge I can enjoy the difficulty.
If I’ve created the trap I can enjoy the struggle.”

Suddenly the trap ceases to be. Suddenly the difficulty feels thrilling.

You have BIG goals and big visions- not just for new year, but for all times of year. But lets not be a self-sabotaging ...

But lets not be a self-sabotaging perfectionist about the timeline of ex*****on.

Future version of you does not get thrown off when holiday family stuff takes over your life and then you catch your kid’s nasty cold which puts you on your ass for a week.

Nope! Future you honors your energy and your priorities moment by moment. And thats always in flux because this is LIFE!

Future you is a no-nonsense, no shame, CONSTANT recommitment to the big goals, the plan, and the vision.

So embrace recommitment and make it your NORMAL: No shame, no guilt, no delay.
You fall off? You get back on.
Over and over again.

Make recommitment so automatic that you see all of LIFE as the vision unfolding.
