Hands-on learning in action! đź‘Ź
This week, first-year Occupational Therapy students put their skills to the test by learning how to assess hand strength and dexterity using tools and assessments such as dynamometers, pinch gauges, the Box and Blocks Test, and more.
Students compared their results with normative data to determine whether performance fell within expected ranges and practiced functional tasks involving a variety of grasps and upper-extremity movements used in everyday activities.
These hands-on experiences are helping our future occupational therapists build the practical skills and clinical knowledge they’ll use to help others participate more fully in the activities that matter most. 🦉
