“[ Director] Stephen Naron underscored the central role of ethics in engaging with the data, noting in particular how ethical principles were embedded directly into the interface itself.”

Earlier this month, the U-CORE project launched its Luxembourg collection of 80+ interviews with uprooted Ukrainian citizens. To mark the occasion, Director Stephen Naron joined remotely with Dr. Inna Ganschow, Dr. Anna Cole (University of Portsmouth), Dr. Simon Donig (Herder-Institut), Prof Dr. Andreas Fickers (Director, University of Luxembourg’s C²DH) for a roundtable discussion.

"[Vadim Kolpakov] executed one delicate, intricate passage after another, energetic and effortless. And through it all, time after time, he looked up from his instrument, made eye contact with the audience, and smiled. He traveled far, and never left anyone behind."

The Italian word “Zingaresca” means “in a Gypsy style." Formed in 2006, ZINGARESCA Music Ensemble is a collaboration between the celebrated Romani (“Gypsy”) virtuoso Vadim Kolpakov, the pioneer in the revival of the seven-string guitar Oleg Timofeyev, and the Juilliard-trained baritone Anton Belov. They interweave classical Eastern European guitar heritage with the best traditions of the Romani and Jewish diaspora, blending the sophistication of classical music with the fiery vitality of folk musical expression.
