New Hampton School College Counseling

New Hampton School College Counseling Director: Jennifer Berry, Administrative Assistant: Jen Churc

Our Philosophy
Our approach is fundamentally educational, an extension of the curriculum of the school, always striving to uphold the mission of New Hampton School, and trying to reinforce New Hampton School’s Foundations of Learning (FOL). Students entering the senior or post-graduate year should be learning and practicing the skills necessary for their next steps beyond New Hampton School. Close

OBJECTIVES:
• Encouraging individual students to develop a holistic understanding of themselves.
• Guiding students through an increasingly self-directed college process using a variety of assessment and research tools.
• Fostering a 'college-going culture' for the entire New Hampton community, with regular updates on the ever-changing landscape of college admissions.
• Communicating expectations about the process and the outcomes for all New Hampton School constituencies.

Class of 2014...Final Transcripts!

Very soon (some of you have gotten one already!) you will be receiving a request from your college of choice for your final high school transcript. The NHS Academic Office is busy preparing them. The NHS College Office will be sending your final transcript to your college of choice by the end of next week (June 6).

If you have any questions about this process, or there has been a change in your college of choice, please let us know as soon as possible.

Have a great summer!

Congratulations to the Class of 2014!

Class of 2014!

May 1- the college enrollment deposit deadline - is here!

1. Confirm with your counselor where you will be enrolling.
This is an important step because we are required to send your final transcript to the college or university where you will enroll.

2. Pay the enrollment deposit to your college of choice.
a. The process to deposit should be outlined in your acceptance letter.
b. The money must be in the Admission Office BEFORE May 1!!!

3. Send a 'Thank you but I am enrolling at ######XX College/University email to ALL your other colleges that accepted or waitlisted you.
a. You can find the email addresses in Naviance.
b. I have provided a template below.
c. The emails should be sent BEFORE May 1!

* #3 is vital as the withdrawal of your name from consideration may/might open up a spot at that school for another student - maybe even one of your classmates here at New Hampton!*
