The 2026 Pro Patria pins have arrived! π¨ππ
For 103 years, Pro Patria has created and distributed the August 1st pin, with proceeds going to support architectural heritage and cultural heritage in Switzerland.
This year's pin uses a Velcro fastener. Velcro was invented by Swiss engineer Georges de Mestral, who was intrigued by the hook and loop mechanism of the burdock burrs that clung to his clothing when on hikes with his dog. The pin is sturdy and reusable, and can be attached to a dog collar or keyring.
A limited amount of pins are available at the Swiss Center for $10, and can be shipped for an added fee.
