The Muskingum Valley Symphonic Windsic Winds closed out the summer with a fantastic performance at the Salt Fork Arts & Crafts Festival. Congratulations to all performers and especially Ricky Harvey, Meadowbrook High School Band Director, who served as guest conductor for yesterday's concert.

The Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds closes out the summer with a performance at the Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Large Pavilion of Cambridge City Park. Come on out and enjoy your favorite Americana and patriotic tunes!

Come on out to Celebrate New Concord tonight to hear some traditional Irish music with Roscommon Sessions. Our very own Jim Lindroth, Muskingum instructor of percussion, is part of this group. This will be a really fun concert!
The concert is at 7 p.m. in Village Park. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy some great music!

We have been monitoring the weather all day and are proceeding with the concert outside as planned. The rain is forecast to move out later this afternoon.

We hope to see you at 7 p.m. to hear some traditional Irish music by Roscommon Sessions!

This week, Muskingum is honored to host the 31st edition of the The Cardinal Chorale, under the direction of Chuck Snyder and his staff. The Chorale has called Muskingum home for their summer workshop for 11 years. Their concert, "One World, One Voice, One Song," is this Saturday in Caldwell Hall theatre at 2 p.m., and will feature music learned during the week. Come on out and support these fine young musicians!

Dr. Turrill worked with the Belpre High School Marching Band last week when they were on campus for band camp. He also caught up with Muskie music alum Martha Webster, who is the assistant band director at Belpre and teaches K-6 general music, beginning band, and elementary choir.

It's great seeing our alumni inspiring today's youth!

The Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds closed out New Concord's America 250 celebration with a performance of the Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and the Stars and Stripes Forever. It was a thrilling ending to an amazing community celebration! 🇺🇸

The Symphonic Winds performed as part of the Celebrate New Concord summer concert series, in conjunction with the America 250 celebration.

The Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds will be the grand finale of the New Concord America 250 Celebration tomorrow. Highlights of the concert:

Lots of patriotic favorites

An amazing jazz combo, featuring George DeLancey, David Schubach, Don Kason, Steve Johnson, Scott Kitchen, and vocalist Mallory Wolfe.

Premiere performance of transcription of a piano ragtime piece by a local composer (transcription by Associate Professor of Music David Turrill and recent Muskingum graduate Heather Dawson '26)

Tchaikovsky's iconic 1812 Overture with fireworks during the grand finale!

It's going to be an amazing concert and day celebrating America 250. There are events happening all day, but the Symphonic Winds concert is at 8 p.m. in Village Park. Rain location is the New Concord United Methodist Church.
