We're excited to share that Muskingum University, in partnership with Zane State College, has been awarded nearly $5 million in federal Title III funding from the U.S. Department of Education. This five-year investment will strengthen enrollment, student success, transfer pathways, work-based learning opportunities, and AI integration across both institutions.
This collaborative initiative, Improving Student Outcomes and Institutional Effectiveness with AI, will add new student-focused support positions, enhance transfer success, expand internship and career-connected learning opportunities, and equip faculty, staff, and students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world.
Among the grant's innovative features are secure AI "sandboxes" that will give students, faculty, and staff hands-on opportunities to explore emerging technologies, develop practical AI skills, and prepare for the future of work.
As Dr. Flavius Lilly, President of Muskingum University, shared: "At Muskingum, we believe education changes lives, strengthens communities, and expands what is possible for every learner. This partnership with Zane State College allows us to build on that mission by creating clearer pathways to degree completion, connecting students with meaningful workplace experiences, and equipping them with the skills needed to navigate a future increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. Together, we are investing in student success and in the long-term vitality of our region."
We're grateful for the opportunity to advance student success, strengthen workforce readiness, and expand access to transformational educational experiences throughout our region.
